Why Playing High School Soccer During the Fall Season Works Well for College-Bound Players & Multi-Sport Athletes
Playing high school soccer during the fall season allows athletes to continue their same competitive club experience before and after the high school season. Our players have consistently been able to thrive in both environments, achieving amazing success at the club level while also competing for their high school team. This model provides flexibility for multi-sport athletes, including those who want to play high school basketball in the winter, while still maintaining high-level soccer development.
At NPA, we are more than just an academic college preparatory school—we are also an athletic college preparatory program. We are one of the most successful girls' soccer programs in the state of Arizona, competing in the last 9 straight state finals and winning 7 state championships and numerous interstate tournament championships against top teams from Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah, who also play in the fall high school season. In 2021, we had the privilege of competing against the #8 ranked team in the country, Faith Lutheran, in Las Vegas, Nevada, gaining invaluable experience against one of the nation’s top programs.
We are the smallest school in Arizona to achieve this level of success, standing among the top programs in the state. Our achievements are only surpassed by historic powerhouse programs like Xavier, Salpointe Catholic, Chaparral, Blue Ridge, and Catalina Foothills. Our historic success is reflected in the Arizona Interscholastic Association records.
Our program has numerous players in the Arizona high school record books, including Mia Blair, the #1 all-time assist leader in Arizona state history with 104 assists over her 4-year playing career. Mia went on to a highly successful 4 year collegiate playing career at Wheaton College in Illinois being named 1st team All Conference 3 years and helping lead the team to the second round of the NCAA tournament her freshman season.
Our Premier-level training goes beyond the field, offering a true soccer education through what the players like to call their "8th period of the day".
This includes:
-
